On April 3, 2008 Detroit firefighters responded to 1203 Meldrum near Lafayette on a reported house fire. Upon arrival Ladder 6 advised that the first due engine would be stretching on a working house fire. Heavy fire involved the rear of the occupied 1.5 story frame.
